LUSO
LUSO is PARSUK's annual meeting and is the biggest event of the Portuguese scientific community in the UK.
This event is organized by PARSUK. It serves as a platform for knowledge exchange and to discuss a diversity of subjects that are relevant for the Portuguese, English and global societies. It's an opportunity for our members to network, build stronger connections, establish new contacts and partnerships.
Each year LUSO attracts more than 100 participants, including representatives of the Portuguese government, private, and public sectors as well as academics, researchers, policymakers and innovators. The event was held in several cities in the UK, such as Manchester (2016), Edinburgh (2017), Lancaster (2018), and London (2019).
Due to the COVID-19, in 2020 and 2021, LUSO took place in a digital format. The guest panel usually includes the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, the Vice-President of the Portuguese National Funding Agency for Science, Research and Technology (FCT) and the Ambassador of Portugal in London.
LUSO is usually sponsored by Direção-Geral dos Assuntos Consulares e das Comunidades (DGACCP) and Agência para o Investimento e Comércio Externo de Portugal (AICEP), among others.
